Volunteer with TECHNOVATION TEXAS
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Technovation Texas—champions who help unlock opportunity for young innovators across our state. Whether you’re guiding a team, sharing your expertise, or supporting community events, your commitment opens doors to STEM learning and empowers students to become confident, creative problem‑solvers.
All volunteer roles listed here directly strengthen Technovation Texas programs. While these positions align with Technovation’s global volunteer framework, volunteers recruited through this site serve within our local Texas chapter—making a hands‑on impact in the communities that need it most.
All volunteers receive free training through the global Technovation program, including mentor onboarding, curriculum training, and youth‑safety orientation. Additional support and optional local training may be provided by Technovation Texas to ensure volunteers feel confident, supported, and fully prepared for their roles.

Choose the role that fits your strengths and join us in empowering
the next generation of innovators.
Mentor
Help a small group of students navigate the Technovation curriculum, explore coding and AI, develop prototypes, and prepare their final pitch. Mentors support weekly sessions for 8–10 weeks and serve as encouraging role models throughout the journey.
Technical Advisor
(Assist Chapter Mentors/Students)
Provide on‑call or scheduled support for teams or mentors who need deeper guidance in coding, AI concepts, app development, UX, or troubleshooting.
This is ideal for professionals with technical expertise who cannot commit to weekly mentoring.
Guest Speaker
(Present at Local Events)
Lead short sessions on topics such as design thinking, entrepreneurship, motivation, AI ethics, UI/UX, or public speaking. Perfect for professionals with specialized knowledge who want to contribute through one‑time or occasional engagements.
Event Helper
(Support Chapter Events)
Assist with setup, registration, room support, youth supervision, tech assistance, and logistics during build days, workshops, and pitch events. Ideal for volunteers seeking flexible, short‑term opportunities.
Judge
(Local or Regional Events)
Review student projects during practice pitch days or end‑of‑season showcases. Judges evaluate creativity, problem‑solving, impact, and presentation quality. This role requires only 1–3 hours per event.
Chapter Support
(Support our Chapter)
Support behind‑the‑scenes operations such as communications, outreach, scheduling, parent coordination, resource prep, and data tracking. This role is flexible and can be fully remote.
School or Community Liaison
(Help Promote and Expand our Chapter)
Serve as a bridge between Technovation Texas and a school, community center, library, or youth organization. Liaisons assist with program coordination, student recruitment, and session logistics.
Parent Helper
(Support Team Logistics)
Parents may support team logistics, encouragement, event participation, transportation, and general student supervision (but may not serve as the sole team mentor).
Regional Ambassadors
(Support and Aid in Chapter Expansion)
Help spread awareness of Technovation across Texas by conducting outreach, sharing resources, connecting with local schools, and expanding engagement in your region.
